Tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Booking your Georgetown, SC vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Georgetown, SC area:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Bungalow at the Bay 3 Bedroom Vacation Home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
