Our top Georgetown, SC vacation rental tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Georgetown. To book the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Georgetown, SC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Cozy Oceanview Villa just steps from beach and pool has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
