Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Georgetown, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.

Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Inviting Ocean View Villa with Easy Beach and Pool Access Deans has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
