Rental booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your search:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. River Front House on Black River in Georgetown SC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a certain Georgetown, SC destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
