Georgetown rental property booking tips:
Get the most from your budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To find the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Georgetown, SC attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Georgetown, SC rental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful Custom Home Overlooking Pond has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Georgetown, SC beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
