Booking the best rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Georgetown, SC area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home in the Georgetown, SC area:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Live Oak Lodge at Mauresina River Plantation has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
