Finding the best Georgetown, SC rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Georgetown, SC area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Georgetown, SC vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking a perfect Georgetown, SC rental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Happy Days Luxury Oceanfront Beach Villa in DeBordieu has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
