Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Booking your Georgetown, SC vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Manor House Suite at Wedgefield Country Club has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Georgetown, SC destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
