Tips to get the best rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Georgetown, SC area. To book the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your group select a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. BOAT AND PET FRIENDLY HOME LOCATED NEAR SAMPIT RIVER has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Georgetown, SC attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
