Tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summer months are high season in Georgetown. Booking your Georgetown, SC vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Georgetown, SC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking yourvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Adorable 2 story lake front setting. has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Georgetown, SC beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
