Rental booking tips:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Georgetown. Booking your Georgetown, SC vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Georgetown, SC area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing a perfect Georgetown, SC rental:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Adorable 2 story lake front setting. has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
