Our top Georgetown vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Carolina Dreamin' Beautiful southern home in DeBordieu -Great for families! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Georgetown, SC destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
