Booking the best Georgetown rental home experience:
Getting the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Georgetown, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Georgetown, SC area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Natural and Serene Home Away from Home has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Georgetown, SC destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
