Tips to get the optimal Georgetown, SC vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Georgetown. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking the best Georgetown, SC rental:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. BEACH FRONT with PRIVATE WALKWAY, Pet-friendly. Minimum 7 nights, Sat-to-Sat has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
