Tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Georgetown, SC area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • To start, have your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. BEACH FRONT with PRIVATE WALKWAY, Pet-friendly. Minimum 7 nights, Sat-to-Sat has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Georgetown, SC destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
