Our top Georgetown rental home tips:
How to get the best value:
- To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Georgetown, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the perfectrental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Delightful, Low Country home with dock on Debordieu Channel has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Georgetown, SC rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
